Currently, we are looking for an Embedded Systems Technician to join the ArcBest Technologies team. The daily activity of an ArcBest Technologies Embedded Systems Technology Analyst requires excellent problem solving as well as time management skills. The primary responsibility is to test, maintain, and deploy embedded software and hardware in support of ArcBest and its subsidiaries.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assists in testing, maintaining, and deploying telematics software releases, ensuring high quality and overall system stability
  • Assists in reviewing and testing freight tractor and forklift embedded software and hardware systems including but not limited to telematics, Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, and onboard camera systems
  • Provides technical support to the Help Desk and direct line of business for embedded system components and their integration into a complete overall system
  • Assists in reviewing and testing cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity to embedded systems
  • Assists in maintaining relationships with strategic vendors and professional organizations
  • Assists in oversight of Information Technology deployments to line of business facilities and high value assets
  • Assists in developing schedules, timelines, and reporting progress related to telematics and IoT projects
  • Analyze business workflows, specifications, and documentation in order to improve bug identification and remediation
  • Analyzes, detects, and corrects technical problems and deficiencies related to embedded system deployments
  • Understands complex issues and initiatives and is able to sustain communication on these topics with business and technology-savvy individuals
  • Collaborates with vendors, internal customers, and IT organization to understand the market, competitors and market trends
  • Develop strong understanding of technology services delivered by vendors
  • Perform software testing and establish deployment best practices
  • Understands wired and wireless network communication protocols
  • Possess familiarity with Project Management disciplines


Education:  BA/BS degree in Information Systems or equivalent field, required

Experience:  At least one to two years of experience in related field preferred.

Other Requirements: Understands compliance requirements for Federal Motor Carrier Safety   Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
